Offer Entertainment
Children can get bored while traveling in your RV. If they aren’t stimulated or curious, they will probably struggle to stay seated in the vehicle for hours on end. Providing some entertainment is an easy fix for this! Let your children bring some of their favorite toys, books, and movies. You can even let them choose the music every once in a while.
If you have a tablet, consider downloading coloring apps, games, and educational videos. It can be helpful to switch over to craft projects during the ride too so your kids can have a break from screens. Give the little ones a journal, supplies for friendship bracelets, or markers and paper to color!
Sleeping Arrangements
A big part of traveling with kids in your RV is making sure they’re comfortable. You’ll want to have enough bunks and beds for each child to have their own space to sleep at night. If you can, add some curtains or partitions for increased privacy. Ensure that the temperature isn’t too hot or too cold, and dim the lights in your camper. The kids will definitely be happier if they are well-rested after sleeping in a comfortable bed.
Establish a Routine
Let your children know what the plan is each day and try your best to stick to a schedule similar to one you would follow at home on the weekend. Eat meals at the same time each day, take showers at the same times, and have a regular bedtime set. You should also give the kids a half hour to an hour of wind-down time before bed. Having a routine will make traveling with the children in your camper that much easier.
